Plymouth, WI: Perfect weather
greeted fans and racers and the racing was very
exciting. A-main winners was, Brian Kristan
(Zion, IL.
The Sprint cars raced two and three wide at
times giving the fans an exciting race. Kristan
would take the lead on lap ten passing Tim Melis
(Plymouth) on the outside. After the race
stopped twice early, it was not interrupted
until the checkered flag waved.
After Kristan took the lead, he and Davis would
swap the lead times with Kristan leading each
lap as they crossed the start/finish line. Ben
Schmidt had a strong run going early, but when
the drive shaft came off on lap five his night
was done. Kristan was a master in lapped traffic
and took the win.
Kristan said in victory lane, since bringing on
a new crew-chief, he has won five consecutive
A-mains.
Kurt Davis (West Allis) finished second with
Melis getting third. T.J. Luedke (Plymouth) was
fourth and Jeremy Schultz (Beaver Dam) fifth.
The first Sprint B-main was won by Jason Johnson
(Campbellsport) with
Tim Haddy
(Waupun) and Earl Possi (Rock MI)
transferring. Johnson led all twelve laps in a
race that saw the final transfer spot determined
on the last lap.
The Second B-main was won Brian Johnson
(Kewaskum) with Shane Wenninger (Kewaskum) and
Jay Riemer (Sheboygan Falls) transferring.
Rookie Erin Winscher had the lead early and was
running a very nice race until a yellow flag
slowed the pace following a spin.
On the restart, Johnson was able to take lead
with a low pass in turn one. Wenninger after
starting seventh passed two cars on a lap-10
restart. Jay Riemer made a last lap pass to get
the final transfer spot.
Danny Schlafer won the first heat from the pole
with Schmidt coming from sixth to get second.
Luedke won the second heat finishing ahead of
Pete Ostrowski.
The third heat went to Kristan from the outside
of the front row. Paul Pokorski who took the
point on the second lap won the final heat race.

The Haddy
Motorsports will be celebrating Glenn Haddy's
50th year in racing in 2009. They will be
running a special car with the number of 50th
for the entire season at both Manitowoc and
Plymouth. Glenn has spent the majority of
his life working and building race cars and this
season should be a good one.
Racing gets
underway this Friday, May 1st at Manitowoc and
on Saturday, May 2nd at Plymouth. Come on
out and see the new car with a NEW number.
